Bonjourno Panarea!!!

Greetings friends and loved ones!!

I'm writing this post out of pure need to make contact with you lot as I'm sitting in the great city of London and for some reason I can only use gmail and this blog...

As you may know or if you have not realized that I have been absent from all the amazingness that takes place back where we live, I have been on a very awesome trip to Panarea, Italy via Reggio Calabria and Rome where I spent a total of three weeks basking in the Mediterranean sun and swimming in the amazing turquoise waters of that fine destination. Needles to say, it was an experience of epic proportions!

Here follows a list of some of my most memorable moments:

1. Seeing the sparkling brilliance and translucent, turquoisey splendor of the Mediterranean see for the first time...aboard a yacht called My Gogo(?!) from the port of Rome to Panarea.

2. Drinking Italian coffee in Italy.
Note: If you are going to ask for a coffee in any Italian caffe or restuarant, just be aware of the fact that you will most likely get something that resembles our average espresso. You will most likely think that you have been done in due to the very small amount of liquid in your tiny little cup, but do not be fooled traveler! This tiny amount of liquid will be enough to assist you in running an ultra race or swim a few see miles so consider yourself warned!

3. Taking a ferry to Lipari on my off day and walking around all day on an island where almost no one understands me, not to mention me totally not understanding them...and finding my way back home.

4. Experiencing the absolute beauty of many very old Catholic churches situated on basically every second corner of a street on any given Aolian Isalnd.

5. Being in very close proximity to two active volcanos-Stromboli and Mount Etna and seeing one of them shoot out spits of lava every night.

6. Coming close to complete body failure and nearly fainting and falling off a cliff while climbing up the Panarean mountain, due to something like altitude sickness...but maybe just lack of fitness and having to literally push a very unhappy 9 year old up the mountain as well...

7. Staying over in the Port of Sicily for two nights on a yacht, parked next to a 'pirate ship', complete with golden mermaid decoration on the front, but which later turned out to be a party cruise boat...O.K so it's still pretty much a pirate ship...

8. Dragging three already exhausted kids up the roaming hills of Sicily to have a pic-nic in the sweltering heat of mid day on a organic olive farm - it was well worth it in the end(after coaxing with gelato's and movie watching...)

9. Wake surfing

10. Andiamo-ing off that amazing piece of island on a helicopter, flown by the infamous madman known as '

Lorenzo the Madman' who's flying skills I have witnessed most every day and can be discribed as nothing less than terrifying.

After another ruthless day of traveling to London via Reggio Calabria and Milan, I now find myself in the fantastic Devonshire House. All is calm and peaceful and I can well and truly say that I have had the best time ever!

I can't wait to come back home and hug and kiss all of you great people! Untill that day, I bid you farewell, arivederci, ciao and farewell ol' chaps.

Lots of love!

Currently my favorite place in the world

I took these photos while visiting a farm situated next to the Gourits River just outside Albertinia.
There is about 200 Arabian horses on the farm, mostly mares, foals and young horses in training for endurance rides, the stallions being in minority, but absolutely, breathtaking...
You know a place is magical when you wake up at 4 in the morning with a silvery white stallion sniffing and walking around outside your caravan...or

maybe it's just me...
